The late Dr. M.S. Ramakrishnan (MS, FACS, FAMS) who was an eminent pediatric surgeon was the founder of this great Institution. He had a dream to provide affordable health care to every child irrespective of economic status. Towards this end, he instituted The CHILDS Trust Hospital on April 27, 1978 which was the International Year of the Child. The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam took over the Hospital management from 2nd October 1999 and has instituted a new Board of Trustees with His Holiness as the Patron, hence the Hospital was renamed as “Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital (KKCTH). The Hospital provides World Class Health Care in the field of General Paediatrics, Paediatric Surgery, Neonatology and allied specialities. This 200 bedded hospital has been serving as a successful tertiary care referral centre for patients all over South India. The hospital has State-of-the-Art Operation Theatres, Ultra-Modern Laboratory complex, State-of-the-Art Research Lab, Emergency, Neonatal ICU, Paediatric ICU, Well equipped digitalized radiography and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The hospital also provides Free/Concessional treatment to deserving people, providing Free Health Care under the “Mahaswami Rural Health Care Scheme” and Free treatment to Cancer Children.
