Different types of rehabilitation centres include:
- Rehabilitation centres for senior citizens or old-age homes: As people age, it becomes increasingly difficult for them to live independently. Many older individuals face physical and cognitive decline without adequate support from their families or communities. Moreover, health and financial limitations can hinder their ability to maintain a satisfactory standard of living. Consequently, the option of old-age homes has emerged as a viable solution for older adults needing additional support and care. These residential facilities offer specialized nursing and assisted living services tailored to the needs of older individuals. Residents receive essential assistance and care, such as meals, housekeeping, medical attention, and recreational activities, to ensure their well-being and overall quality of life. The government or non-profit organizations can privately own or operate old-age homes.
- Physical rehabilitation centres: Focus on helping individuals recover from physical injuries, surgeries, or illnesses. Provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other forms of rehabilitative care.
- Substance abuse rehabilitation centres: Specialize in helping individuals overcome addictions to drugs, alcohol, or other substances. Offer detoxification services, counselling, support groups, and educational programs.
- Mental health rehabilitation centres: Assist individuals dealing with mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Provide therapy, medication management, and support services.
